Authorship Criteria
The Editorial Board establishes authorship criteria for every submitted manuscript. This policy aims to ensure that each author makes a substantial scientific contribution and is responsible for the integrity of the published work.
- Author Requirements
An individual may be listed as an author on an article if they meet the following four criteria:
- Contributes substantially to the conception, research design, data collection, or analysis/interpretation of findings.
- Is actively involved in drafting the manuscript or providing critical revisions regarding scientific substance.
- Reads, reviews, and approves the final version of the manuscript ready for submission for publication.
- Is willing to take responsibility for all aspects of the scientific work, including the accuracy and integrity of the research results.
Note: Contributions that do not qualify as authorship, such as language assistance, technical support, facilities, administrative support, funding, or organizational roles, should be listed in the Acknowledgments section, with the consent of the relevant parties.
- Corresponding Author
The corresponding author is marked with an asterisk (*) in the manuscript and must provide an active email address. The corresponding author serves as the primary point of contact between the author team and the Editorial Board throughout the submission, review, production, and post-publication processes.
- Use of AI-Based Tools
AI-based tools cannot be listed as authors because they cannot be held responsible for the ethics and validity of the work. The use of AI-based tools in writing must be disclosed transparently, and authors remain fully responsible for the content of the manuscript.
- Changes to the List of Authors
Requests to add, remove, or change the order of authors after a manuscript has been submitted to the Editorial Board must be accompanied by a clear justification and written consent from all relevant authors. Changes to authorship requested after a manuscript has been accepted or published will not be processed unless there is a very strong academic justification and approval from the Editor-in-Chief.
- Prohibited Practices
We do not tolerate the following practices:
- Ghost authorship: Meeting the criteria for authorship but intentionally omitting one's name from the manuscript.
- Gift/guest authorship: Being listed as an author despite making no substantial intellectual contribution.
- Orphan authorship: Removing the name of an author who made a substantial contribution from the manuscript without their consent.
- Buying, selling, or trading authorship: Any transaction involving the purchase, sale, or exchange of author positions.
