AI Policy

Jurnal Agriovet is committed to maintaining academic integrity, transparency, and scientific quality. The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based tools and AI-assisted technologies in the manuscript writing and review process is strictly regulated. This policy aims to provide clear guidelines for authors, reviewers, and editors regarding the limitations, transparency, and ethics of AI use in the publication process of our journal.

Guidelines on AI Use for Authors

  1. AI Is Not an Author

AI tools, LLM-based software, or automated content generators do not qualify as authors or co-authors.

  2. Human Authors Bear Full Responsibility

Human authors bear full responsibility for the validity, accuracy, and integrity of the entire manuscript.

  3. Permitted Uses of AI
    • Language and Grammar Refinement: Correcting grammar, spelling, writing style, or translating text (proofreading).
    • Technical Assistance and Analysis: Assisting with programming code, organizing raw data, or creating data visualizations, provided that the accuracy of the results is verified.
    • Literature Search: Assisting in finding initial references. Authors must read and directly verify the original sources.
  4. Prohibited Uses of AI
    • Creation of Main Content and Key Arguments: Generating key scientific arguments, substantial analyses, or interpretations of research findings entirely using AI without verification or meaningful intellectual contribution from the author.
    • Data and Citation Fabrication: Using AI to create false data, fictitious experimental results, or fabricated citations and bibliographies (hallucinated citations). Such practices constitute serious research misconduct.
  5. Disclosure Requirement

If an author uses AI tools for manuscript preparation beyond basic grammar and spelling correction, the use must be disclosed in the manuscript.

    • Acknowledgment or Methods Section: Authors must specify the AI tool used, including its name, version, and developer where available, the parts of the manuscript assisted, and the purpose of its use.
    • Example Disclosure Statement:
During the preparation of this manuscript, the author used [AI Tool Name and Version] to [refine sentence structure / translate text from language X to language Y]. The author has reviewed and edited the AI-assisted content and assumes full responsibility for the content of the publication.

Guidelines on AI Use for Reviewers and Editors

  1. Manuscript Confidentiality

Reviewers and editors must not upload or enter manuscripts, or any portions thereof, under review into public AI tools without appropriate authorization, as this may compromise the confidentiality of the manuscript and the author's intellectual property.

  2. Independent Assessment

Editorial and reviewer decisions must be based on objective, independent professional judgment. AI-generated assessments must not replace the critical evaluation and decision-making of reviewers and editors.

Policy Violations

If a violation of this AI policy, such as undisclosed AI use, data fabrication, or AI-assisted plagiarism, is identified before or after publication, the journal reserves the right to take appropriate action, including:

  1. Rejecting the manuscript.
  2. Retracting a published article.
  3. Prohibiting the author from submitting future manuscripts to the Ekuivalensi journal, in accordance with the journal's editorial policies.
